Fall Aster
Aster oblongifolius
Fall Aster is a perennial, flowering shrub that is native to Texas. It can grow up to three feet tall, but it is usually shorter. It blooms in Fall, and is a source of nectar for bees and other pollinators. It colonizes by stolons, so thin to control it. Once it has gone dormant, cut back to basal rosette. It is both cold and heat tolerant, and does not require much water.
