St Croix is a hair sheep breed adapted to hot humid climates with high disease and parasite pressure. We raise Registered St Croix sheep on pasture, with nothing but grass and mineral. Our sheep are selected for resistance to the barber-pole worm.
St Croix are hardy and productive sheep. They thrive on brush and weeds, and maintain good condition on lower quality pastures. St Croix raise twins and triplets without any special care. They lamb on pasture with low mortality.
Our St Croix are trained to electric fence, and we rotate them throughout our pastures using polybraid. They fit well with rotational and mob grazing systems.
