Malvaviscus arboreus

Turk’s Cap is a fast growing, perennial shrub, native to Texas. It produces a beautiful red-orange flower from mid-summer to the first frost. It is hardy, tolerating heat, cold, drought, and poor soil. Once the stems die in winter, you can cut it almost to the ground and it will grow back quickly in Spring. It attracts birds, hummingbirds, and butterflies.
