The Silver Quill is originally from South Africa. It is drought tolerant, storing water in its leaves like succulents. It is generally seen as a house-plant or porch hanging basket, as it is susceptible to freezes (although it does usually come back from the bulbs). They spread quickly from their bulbs, so will fill up pots and can be divided. Can be toxic to humans or pets, should they eat it.
