Plum, Methley

Prunus salicina ‘Methley’

Methley is a cultivar of a Japanese plum, although it originated in China. Its fruit is round, clingstone, and of a red-purple color. The flesh has an amber tinge, and is sweet, juicy, and very flavorful. They are heat tolerant and do not require many chill hours (150-250). A late frost could hurt their early blooms.
